The location was exceptionally nice very close to centre of Bijagua. Moreover, it was next to a beautiful garden with humming birds and squirrels and the rio celeste and an excellent bakery. Tbh, had a such great stay during our 3 week road trip in Costa Rica.

We had a great value for our money at Hotel Cacao Rio Celeste. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean. The hotel's location, tucked away from the main road, provided a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always going out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.
The breakfast menu could have been improved by offering a wider variety of options.

We got great value for our money at this small, family-run hotel in Bijagua. The room was clean and spacious, and the garden out front was absolutely beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed sitting on the upstairs balcony watching the birds while enjoying a cold beer.
The breakfast menu could be improved by having it served at the hotel instead of having to go to a restaurant 500m away.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The staff, led by Leda, were incredibly warm and friendly. They went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed and gave great recommendations for places to visit in the area. The hotel itself was clean and well-maintained, with spacious rooms and a beautiful garden. The typical Costa Rican breakfast was delicious, and I particularly enjoyed the homemade tortillas. The location was perfect, with a bakery just opposite the junction where you turn off for the hotel, making it convenient to grab a quick and tasty lunch. the staff, cleanliness, breakfast, and location were the best aspects of my stay.
It was all superb.

During my Christmas stay at this hotel, I really liked the fact that the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It made for a pleasant and cozy night's sleep. Additionally, the hotel's location was great, as it offered stunning views of the nearby volcano and surrounding area. It was a picturesque setting that added to the overall experience. Plus, I enjoyed the friendly and helpful staff who were always ready to assist with any queries or concerns.
The WiFi connection at the hotel was quite slow and unreliable. It was frustrating to have such a poor internet connection, especially during a holiday stay when I wanted to stay connected with family and friends.

We, as women traveling alone, really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Cacao Rio Celeste. The room was clean and spacious, and the shower provided warm water. The manager was super responsive and made us feel safe and comfortable during our stay. Johnny, the guide and tour operator, was friendly and knowledgeable about the local animal world. The open kitchen in the courtyard served a delicious typical Costa Rican breakfast. The beautiful front yard was neat and well-maintained, and we were able to spot frogs at night. We highly recommend taking tours with Johnny and visiting the nearby Rio Celeste attraction.
Felt welcomed, nothing too much trouble.

Beautiful gardens attracting lots of birds, full use of the outdoor kitchen, comfortable chairs provided on the upstairs balcony for bird-watching.
Room was quite dark, didn't have bedside tables, no place for suitcases.

The manager, Johnny, was incredibly helpful and accommodating, giving us tips and information about activities. He even upgraded us to 2 rooms instead of 1 when the place was empty. The rooms were spacious, although simple. The garden out front was beautiful. The typical Costa Rican breakfast served in the open kitchen was delicious. Johnny was very knowledgeable about the local animal world and offered guided tours.
Felt very welcome during our stay, nothing was too much trouble.
